摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable solid-liquid separation even when there is no difference in density between the solid and liquid.SOLUTION: A solid-liquid separation apparatus 1 has an annular liquid charging space 7 between a fixed peripheral wall 2 and rotary peripheral walls 4 of a rotary container 3 arranged outside the fixed peripheral wall 2 concentrically in a rotation-drivable way. The liquid charging space 7 is connected, in the lower end part, with a raw liquid supply tube 8 arranged inside the fixed peripheral wall 2 and provided, in the upper end part, with an outlet 14 of the outer peripheral part for concentrated particles and an outlet 12 of the inner peripheral part for clear liquid. In carrying out a solid-liquid separation treatment, a liquid charged into the liquid charging space 7 by moving the rotary peripheral walls 4 relative to the fixed peripheral wall 2 through rotation-drive of the rotary container 3 is caused to form a flow field having a shear rate gradient with the rate increasing from the inner peripheral side to the outer peripheral side, and, in this condition, a raw liquid 9 containing particles is supplied from the raw liquid supply tube 8. Since the particles 10 in the raw liquid 9 move to the outer peripheral side owing to saffman lift force, a particle concentrated liquid 15 containing concentrated particles 10 is recovered from the outlet 14 for concentrated particles, and a clear liquid 13 is recovered from the outlet 12 for clear liquid.
