1. A power control system comprising a power control apparatus, the power control apparatus including:
a grid power inlet configured to receive grid power; a grid power outlet configured to provide grid power; a data transmission output; a data transmission input configured to receive low voltage power; a voltage regulator configured to receive the low voltage power and provide regulated low voltage power at an output; a relay coupled to the voltage regulator, the grid power inlet and the grid power outlet, the relay being configured to selectively couple the grid power inlet to the grid power outlet in response to receiving the regulated low voltage power from the voltage regulator; and a switch configured to selectively couple the voltage regulator to the relay, wherein the power control apparatus is configured to receive a communication signal via the data transmission input, transmit the communication signal via the data transmission output, and provide residual low voltage power via the data transmission output.
