INTERACTIVE MEDIA SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SELECTIVELY PREVENTING ACCESS TO TRICK PLAY FUNCTIONS

A method is disclosed for preventing a user from accessing a feature of an interactive media application. The method comprises recording media that has associated media data, wherein the media data describes content of the media storing the media data associated with the media. A request is received from the user to access the feature of the interactive media application and in response to receiving the request, during playback of the media, it is determined whether the user should be prevented from accessing the feature of the interactive media application based on the determined content. In response to determining the user should be prevented from accessing the feature of the interactive media application based on media data, the user is prevented from accessing the feature of the interactive media application.
