PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology which improves accuracy of a position of a new road.SOLUTION: A map information generation system comprises: movement locus acquisition means which acquires a movement locus of a mobile body; movement locus correction means which corrects a position of the movement locus so that the movement locus approaches an existing road; new road acquisition means which acquires as a new road a section where the corrected movement locus does not correspond to the existing road; and new road additional means which adds to the map information information showing the new road.
