Provided are a method and device for controlling an operational state of a data center. The method comprises: calculating an operational parameter of a best operational state point of the data center under a current outdoor environmental condition through an operational state model of the data center according to a requirement of an Internet-technology-device-side service and a permissible condition of indoor environment; and sending the operational parameter of the best operational state point of the data center to the data center, such that the data center operates in accordance with the operational parameter of the best operational state point of the data center. The present invention enables the data center to automatically operate on the best operational state point of the data center according to the service and environmental requirements, and ensures the most efficient, energy-saving and stable overall operational state of the data center.
