PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cultivating vegetables and fruits, suppressing powdery mildew by radiating a prescribed amount of infrared light to the vegetables and fruits without using an agrochemical agent.SOLUTION: Infrared light is near infrared light, and is provided with that its irradiation intensity is ≥59 μW/cmper the surface of the vegetables and fruits, the central wavelength as the near infrared light is in the neighborhood of 740 nm and its irradiating time is desirably all day long, that is, continuous irradiation for 24 h. The use of an LED light source or an HEFL light source is desirable in the view point of electric power consumption. |
