[Class 46] A rotary drum vacuum filter is provided with a vibratory member which co-operates with a part of the drum or with the layer of filtered material on the periphery of the drum in order to impart a vibratory movement to said layer. Fig. 2 shows a vibrator 6 in contact with the flange 11 of a drum filter while Fig. 3 shows a mechanically operated hammer 8 which strikes the flange 11. Fig. 4 shows a modification in which the slurry layer is struck by a hammer 9 which may be operated continuously by pneumatic means. |
