PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet transport device in which upper and lower endless belts can be properly returned to equilibrium positions, a control method of the same, and an image formation device.SOLUTION: A sheet transport device 1C comprises: steering mechanisms 46, 47 which respectively tilt upper and lower endless belts 41, 42 in the width direction orthogonal to a sheet conveyance direction FD to respectively move the upper and lower endless belts 41, 42 in the width direction; and a controller which detects deviation amounts from respective equilibrium positions of the upper and lower endless belts 41, 42 in the width direction, and controls the steering mechanisms 46, 47 on the basis of the respectively detected deviation amounts of the upper and lower endless belts 41, 42. The controller controls, when at least one of the upper and lower endless belts 41, 42 is determined to be deviated from the equilibrium position by detecting the deviation amount, the steering mechanisms 46, 47 so that the upper and lower endless belts 41, 42 are the same position in the width direction, and then both of the upper and lower endless belts 41, 42 are moved to the equilibrium positions at the same speed. |
