The present invention relates to a tyre for vehicle wheels. The tyre (100) comprises at least one soundproofing layer (301) having a radial height (t) and an axial width (L), wherein said soundproofing layer (301) is attached to a radially inner surface (113) of the tyre (100) placed at a tread band (109). The ratio t/C between the radial height (t) of the soundproofing layer (301) and the maximum cross section width (C) of the tyre (100) is less than or equal to about 0.2. The soundproofing layer (301) delimits, together with the radially inner surface (113), a channel (309) which extends along a circumferential direction. The ratio Ar/S between an area of the passage section (Ar) of the channel (309) and an overall section (S) of the soundproofing layer (301) is comprised between about 0.04 and about 0.2. |
