摘要 Coupling a riser tensioner cylinder 202 to a riser 206 includes two pin connections 212 and 214 either end of cylinder 202. Pin 212 is rotatably coupled to a platform 208 and pin 214 is on an extension rod 203 and coupled to a tension ring 204, via an adjustable linkage system, that is attached to riser 206. The adjustable linkage system has an attachment mechanism that attaches cylinder 202 to ring 204, preferably via a retention device 216 that may be selectively activated and deactivated, and a positioning mechanism that rotates cylinder 202 about pin connection 212. The positioning device may have a flexible member 220 coupled at one end to a mounting point 222 on cylinder 202 and at the other end to a rotation device 224 coupled to platform 208. The positioning mechanism may alternatively have a double acting rotation mechanism (318, Fig 3A) having a double acting rotation cylinder (302, Fig 3A) coupled to cylinder 202 via a solid link (304, Fig 3A). The positioning device may otherwise have a mechanical link (402, Fig 4A) coupled at one end to cylinder 202 and at the other end to a cylinder (406, Fig 4A) on platform 208.
