This heat-source device is provided with: a booster circuit which boosts an input voltage by turning a first switch on and off and outputs the boosted voltage by way of a reverse-current blocking diode; an inverter which converts the output from the booster circuit into an alternating current, and outputs the alternating current as driving power to a motor; a second switch connected in parallel with the reverse-current blocking diode; and a controller. In accordance with the operating state of the motor, the controller switches between boosted operation employing the booster circuit, and non-boosted operation, and during boosted operation, achieved by turning the first switch on and off, the second switch is also turned on and off, with a phase that is the opposite of the phase with which the first switch is turned on and off, and during non-boosted operation, achieved by turning the first switch off, the second switch is turned on. |
