The application relates to a device and a method for detecting of a Dedicated Short Range Communication (DSRC) signal (C2C-201) in a motor vehicle (201; 202), in particular with a module (C2x-Syst, Det) with a "C2X" communication system and/or a "Car2Car" communication system (C2x-Syst) of a motor vehicle (201), wherein, after an amplitude demodulation (ADM) of a received (ANT) signal (C2C-201), one or more properties (E1-E7) of the received (ANT) signal (C2C-201) are examined by a protocol detector (uP).
