[Glass 28 (ii)] [Also in Group XXVIII] A sausage &c. casing is formed by drawing paper strips 28, 29 through a folding device 30, the strip 29 which is narrower than the strip 28 being embraced by the latter with their edges lying together, the edges being sewn together at 22. The folded casing is pressed by rollers 32 and wound on a drum 33, being then in the form shown in Fig. 16. When required for use the casing is drawn through a device 54, Fig. 13, which unfolds it and is cut into desired lengths. The casing is shown as in position on a stuffer horn, Fig. 19, the strip 29 forming a sealing pad 62. |
