I[Class 142 (i)] In an hydraulic stop motion the knock-off lever 57 is pushed out of its notch 56 by a bellows cylinder 54 connected through valves 62, 63 and pipes 52, 53 to two bellows 36, 37 which are reciprocated by an eccentric 46 on one of the loom shafts 43. The bellows 36, 37 are also connected respectively by pipes 25, 26 with bellows 18, 19. The bellows 18, 19, through the crosshead 27 normally reciprocate the notched bars 32 of a warp detector. Should a warp break and the bars 32 in consequence be locked fluid under pressure from one of the bellows 36, 37 will pass through one or other of the valves 62, 63 into the bellows 54. When the knock-off lever 57 is clear of the cylinder rod 68 a spring catch 73 takes into the notch 76 and locks the cylinder in its extended state. The hook rod 77 which is connected with the rod 68 then locks the opened valve 62 or 63 in open position and keeps the closed one closed. This is to ensure that the liquid in the bellows 54 returns to the bellows whence it came. When the lever 57 is returned by hand to its notch 56 the catch 73 is freed together with bellows 54 and the valves 62, 63. Instead of locking the bellows 18, 19 by a warp detector, the passages 25, 26 can be stopped by valves 70, 98 controlled by shuttle and weft-fork detectors. When properly boxed, the shuttle 88 moves the swell 80 about its pivot 81 into the positions shown, and a connected slide 85 also into the position shown. The box and the slide 85 reciprocate in the direction shown by the arrow b and, in the position shown, the stem 87 of the valve 70 can pass through a hole in the slide 85. When the shuttle is not properly boxed, the slide 85 hits the stem 87 and closes to valve 70. The bellows 54 then operates as before. The weft feeler 90 is mounted to reciprocate in the direction of the arrow c. When no weft d is present the feeler 90 locks the slider 95 which then engages the lever 96 and closes the valve 98. The slider 95 and the stem 87 are connected to disc or other indicators 107, 106.</p> |
