Device for use in the production of fibre-reinforced components

The device (1) has a controllable holding device provided on a positionable base frame (3) and configured for gripping and holding a reinforced fiber layer (5). A draping device is provided on the base frame such that the reinforced fiber layer is draped onto a mould core via application of vacuum. The holding device includes a set of vacuum pumps that are operated utilizing compressed air and produce vacuum using Bernoulli effect. The draping device includes a stretchable draping layer that is movable between a stationary position and a working position. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing fiber-reinforced components.
