A riser system comprises a primary conduit 20 extending between a surface vessel and a subsea location and an auxiliary conduit 22 extending adjacent the primary conduit. In one example a composite jumper conduit 40 extends from the surface vessel and is fluidly connected to the auxiliary conduit, said jumper conduit comprising a composite material formed of at least a matrix and one or more reinforcing elements embedded within the matrix. The jumper may extend upwardly from the conduit in a generally convex curved profile and in a non-sagging or non-catenary manner. The jumper may be mounted on a reel 42 which is mounted on a deck 44 of a ship 12. |
