PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To start projection in short time without causing flickering.SOLUTION: A projection device comprises: an LD22; a phosphore wheel 23 that emits a plurality of color light in time-division due to light emitted by the LD22; a marker sensor 24 that detects a rotation phase of the phosphore wheel 23; and a main microcomputer 14 and sub microcomputer 15 that when booting the device, determine synchronization between a rotation phase of the phosphore wheel 23 and a light-up pulse LD-ENBL by means of a detection pulse CWINDEX from the marker sensor 24 in a state where a power supply to the LD22 is halted after starting rotation of the phosphore wheel 23 and an output of the light-up pulse LD-ENBL instructing light-up timing with respect to the LD22.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
