Provided is a dog clutch mechanism having a simple and inexpensive structure, and allowing the engagement operation between a sleeve and a transmission gear to be reliably performed regardless of the relative rotational position therebetween. If dog teeth (21b) of a sleeve (20) abut (collide) on key members (50) when the sleeve (20) slides toward a transmission gear (30), the key member (50) is retracted to a retracted position on the transmission gear (30) side against the biasing force of a coil spring (55), and the dog teeth (21b) are fitted to keyways (51) formed between the plurality of key members (50), thereby coming into a meshing state in which a rotary shaft (2) and the transmission gear (30) rotate integrally. Even if the dog teeth (21b) of the sleeve (20) abut on the key members (50), the key members (50) with the dog teeth (21b) abutting thereon are retracted to the retracted position, thereby making it possible to reliably bring the dog clutch mechanism (1) into engagement in only one engagement operation. |
