A telecommunications system includes a telecommunications fixture including a fixture spool and at least one telecommunications module mounted to the telecommunications fixture. The telecommunications module is slidably movable between a retracted position and an extended position with respect to the telecommunications fixture. The telecommunications module includes a module spool that moves with the telecommunications module, wherein the module spool moves toward and away from the fixture spool as the telecommunications module slides with respect to telecommunications fixture. A cable that extends from the telecommunications fixture to the slidable telecommunications module is at least partially wrapped around both the fixture spool and the module spool when the module is in the retracted position.
