Provided is a printing apparatus or the like that performs reciprocating printing and enables a reduction in the color difference between forward printing and backward printing irrespective of printing conditions such as a paper type. The printing apparatus is provided with: a printing unit that performs bi-directional printing on a printing medium; and an adjustment unit that causes the printing unit to print a first-direction printing image using first-direction color conversion information for a first-type printing medium, and a second-direction printing image using second-direction color conversion information for a second-type printing medium, on the second-type printing medium in a contrastable manner. The second-direction color conversion information for the second-type printing medium is generated by adjusting the second-direction color conversion information for the first-type printing medium.
