PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for demolishing a pressure vessel for nuclear reactors, which can easily and reliably demolish the pressure vessel for nuclear reactors without requiring a lifting means for lifting the pressure vessel for nuclear reactors within a shield wall.SOLUTION: A plurality of electromagnet-attached racks 9 are carried inside a shield wall 2 from an opening 3 provided at the lower part of the shield wall 2 by a dolly 7 with a lift, and a pressure vessel 4 is supported by the racks 9 which are sucked to the bottom of the pressure vessel 4 slung by strand jacks 19B. Then, the pressure vessel 4 is lifted by the strand jacks 19B, the upper part of the pressure vessel 4 is cut by horizontally rotating a cutting torch 28 of a cutting mechanism 11, and the cut piece is removed by a traveling lifter. This operation is repeated by replacing the strand jacks 19B with new ones to demolish the pressure vessel 4. |
