[Class 113 (ii)] The interior of a lifeboat or like boat is unobstructed by thwarts or like transverse members extending from side to side of the boat, and is provided with seating accommodation for occupants facing along the length of the boat. This seating accommodation may comprise a common longitudinal seat or a row of longitudinally spaced seats. In the form shown, spaced table-like seats 24 are supported by standards 25 above a well deck 20 and level with side benches 11. The boat may be strengthened transversely by spaced fabricated arches which support a canopy, the side tank cleading 13 may be used to extend the benches 11 to the seats 24 to provide an upper deck, and during lowering of the boat, temporary thwarts may be fitted. Food and water tanks 26, 27 may be located beneath the seats 24. The metal hull may comprise a keel 32 and substantially flat, vertical, sheer, bilge and bottom strakes 33, 34 and 36 respectively. |
