An active antenna unit comprises a test signal generator, which generates 304 a first test signal and at least one second test signal, coupled to transmitter modules that simultaneously process 308 the first test signal and at least one second test signal to produce at least one radio frequency test signal. The active antenna unit also comprises a receiver module, which processes 310 one or more signals falling in a spectral band determined to be susceptible to intermodulation distortion products caused by the at least one radio frequency test signal, coupled to an intermodulation determination module that determines 311 a first received intermodulation performance. A first transmitter module of the transmitter modules is uncoupled 312 from the test signal generator and a first test signal and at least one second test signal are re-applied 313 to the remaining transmitter modules, such that the intermodulation determination module determines 314 a second received intermodulation performance in order to determine an intermodulation distortion contribution of the first transmitter module. |
