A collapsible child carrier comprises a housing 300 having a storage compartment 302, a seat 333 and a backrest 344. Housing 300 has a handle 306 and wheels 316, 312, preferably omni-directional wheels, allowing the child carrier to be wheeled along. Seat 333 or a portion of backrest 344 can be moved relative to storage compartment 302 from a folded position to an operative position, in which seat 333 and backrest 344 accommodate a child; preferably, seat 333 or backrest 344 are hingedly mounted to storage compartment 302. Compartment 302 is accessible when the child carrier is in either the folded position or the operative position, for example through an opening in the side of compartment 302. Seat 333 may comprise a multi-point harness. Preferably, the child carrier is a box-shaped bag conforming to standard airline hand luggage dimension requirements. |
