Disclosed are a system and a method for browsing a summary image according to an embodiment of the present invention. The summary image browsing method includes the following steps of: tracing at least one object from an input video; selecting a representative image frame of at least one object from the input video; and generating a summary still image which synthesizes an object segment extracted from the representative image frame of at least one object.
