PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for feeding plate material to a plate material processing apparatus, which, when stacked plate material is conveyed and fed to a plate material processing apparatus, do not require movement of conveyance means for measuring a plate thickness, and which, when two pieces of the plate material are picked up, discard them to a plate material discarding position of a plate material loading device without movement of the conveyance means, and can shift to the next plate material feeding step.SOLUTION: In a method for feeding plate material to a plate material processing apparatus, a robot 5 feeds one piece of plate material at the uppermost part to a plate material processing apparatus 3 while plate material information is acquired from a CAM system 21. A weight measurement device is provided so as to measure the total weight of loaded plate material W (W'). When the robot conveys and feeds the plate material to the plate material processing apparatus, the weight of the plate material held by the robot is compared by the weight measurement device with the weight of one piece of the plate material according to the plate material information, and it is determined whether or not two pieces of the plate material have been picked up. When it is determined that two pieces have been picked up, the plate material W is discarded to a plate material discarding position B. |
