METHOD FOR DETECTING TEXT LINE

The present invention relates to a method for detecting a text line. The method for detecting a text line according to the present invention comprises the following steps of: acquiring a document image desired to be analyzed and binarizing a pixel value of the document image; dividing the document image to a plurality of unit areas having regular intervals; calculating profile representing a frequency of on-pixel with respect to each of the unit areas; composing profile of adjacent unit areas among the unit areas and sequentially arranging the composed profile on each of the unit areas; grouping adjacent profile areas based on the composed profile which is arranged on each of the unit areas; and detecting text lines each of which includes the grouped profile area. By composing and grouping profile of adjacent unit areas, a text line can be easily detected from a document image including texts curvedly arranged.
