PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scavenging quantity estimation device for an internal combustion engine that can accurately estimate scavenging quantity even when response delay characteristics of an air-fuel ratio sensor are changed.SOLUTION: A scavenging quantity estimation device for an internal combustion engine 100 with a supercharger 55 includes an air-fuel ratio sensor 40 disposed in an exhaust passage upstream of the supercharger 55, and is configured to calculate explosion frequency of the internal combustion engine 100 on the basis of the speed of the internal combustion engine 100, calculate the amplitude of the output of the air-fuel ratio sensor 40 at the explosion frequency through a frequency analysis of the output of the air-fuel ratio sensor 40, and estimate the scavenging quantity on the basis of the calculated amplitude.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
