[Classes 83 (ii) and 83 (iv)] Rolling.-Two or more metals are united by heating the layers, passing between them a flushing gas free of oxygen capable of reaction and then rolling the layers together in their heated condition. The flushing gas may be, e.g. purified nitrogen, a rare gas such as neon, argon, crypton, xenon or mixtures of these, hydrogen, compounds of nitrogen and hydrogen, carbon-monoxide, hydrocarbons, or mixtures of these. |
