PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve detection accuracy for the magnitude of a medium.SOLUTION: An image formation device (U) including: an image formation apparatus main body (U1), loading units (TR1 to TR4) of the image formation apparatus main body (U1); alignment units (21, 22, 51) aligning mediums (S) on each of the loading units (TR1 to TR4) while contacting and separating the mediums (S); detection means (92+C6+C7,93+C6+C8) for detecting positions (Sx', Sy') of each of the alignment units at first timing at which the alignment units (21, 22, 51) contact the mediums (S) and second timing based on timing of transporting the mediums (S), respectively; means (C12) for calculating a deviation amount (&Dgr;Sx', &Dgr;Sy') of the positions (Sx', Sy') of each of the alignment units at the first timing and the second timing; and means (C15) for detecting a magnitude of the mediums (S) on each of the loading units (TR1 to TR4) if the deviation amount (&Dgr;Sx', &Dgr;Sy') is small. |
