PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-base coating material for a metal packaging material, which suppresses coating defects in high-speed coating, has excellent performances of a coating film such as processability, adhesiveness to metal, retort resistance, slipping property and wear resistance, and prevents a cut-edge rough phenomenon or deposition of wax in a cap making process.SOLUTION: The water-base coating material for a metal packaging material comprises a water dispersion of an acryl-modified epoxy resin (A) and a wax aqueous dispersion (B) having an average particle diameter of 0.01 to 15 μm of the dispersion particles. The coating material shows a viscosity &eegr;of 20 to 100 mPa s at 25°C and at a shear rate of 10000 s; and a ratio &eegr;/&eegr;of a viscosity &eegr;at a shear rate of 0.1 sto the viscosity &eegr;at a shear rate of 10000 sranges from 1 to 8. |
