PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently control electric power generation.SOLUTION: A controller for a vehicle includes: a battery loaded on the vehicle; an electric power generation means for generating electric power using the output of an internal combustion engine or kinetic energy when decelerating the vehicle, and charging the battery; and a control means for controlling the electric power generation means. When controlling the electric power generation means on the basis of the charging rate of the battery, the control means makes the degree of suppressing the electric power generation of the electric power generation means, when the charging rate of the battery is higher than a target value, greater than the degree of accelerating the electric power generation of the electric power generation means when the charging rate of the battery is lower than the target value. |
