The present disclosure relates to a method and an apparatus for controlling charging of a terminal device. The method includes: when charging a battery of the terminal device, determining (S101) whether a first charging chip currently performing charging of the battery needs to be switched to a second charging chip waiting for performing charging of the battery; and if it is determined that the first charging chip needs to be switched to the second charging chip, controlling (S102) the first charging chip to stop performing charging of the battery, and starting the second charging chip to perform charging of the battery. |
