A method of forming a super hard polycrystalline construction by (i) forming masses of non-ceramic particles and super hard material, with a grain size of 1 or more micron, to form a homogenous suspension, (ii) drying the suspension to form an admix which is then formed in to a pre-sinter, (iii) treating, via a catalyst or solvent, the pre-sinter at ultra high pressure so as to form a super hard material with inter-granular bonding and interstitial regions and where (iv) super hard grains in a first formed fraction are spaced by at least one nano-ceramic grain in a second fraction, (v) with those in the first fraction having a greater average grain size [of at least 1 micron], than those in the second fraction [of less than 999nm]. A super hard polycrystalline construction with (i) a first fraction comprising super hard grains and a second fraction of super hard grains material is also described. |
