XXVIII and XXX] Soldering.-In a machine for assembling tubular capacitors, particularly capacitors of the type described in Specification 479,303, [Group XXXVI], and in which the capacitors are carried by a conveyer chain or belt which is moved intermittently so that each capacitor is halted at a series of stations at some of which an operation in the manufacture of the capacitor is performed, the capacitors are held in spring clips pivotally mounted on the chain or belt so that they may be turned in transit to bring each end of each capacitor upmost in turn (see Group XXX). After delivery from the shoot and rotating hopper device described in Specification 623,569, [Group XXX], the capacitors are inserted in the spring clips and are carried to a station at which an operator dips a terminal 60 in solder and immediately places it in the upper open end of the capacitor. The end is then spun over at a further station by the device shown (see also Group XXVIII). |
