The present invention relates to a portable terminal capable of more accurately and easily detecting counterfeit money, and a method for detecting counterfeit money using the same. The portable terminal comprises: an interface unit for receiving sensing data detected by a magnetic sensing module provided in a case when a bill is moved in one direction while at least a part of the bill is in contact with an inner surface of the case since the case coupled to the mobile terminal is closed while interposing the bill therebetween; and a control unit for determining whether the bill is counterfeit money or not by using the received sensing data. |
