The present invention relates to controller area network (CAN) flexible data-rate (FD) gateway device and a relay method of the CAN FD gateway device. The relay method of the CAN FD gateway device according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a step of receiving one or more CAN frames; a step of confirming the type of the received CAN frames; a step of producing a CAN FD frame by using a plurality of general CAN frames if the CAN frames include the general CAN frames; and a step of producing the CAN FD frame in the light of the size of a plurality of CAN TP frames if the CAN frames include the CAN TP frames. According to the present invention as stated above, compatibility between CAN communication and CAN FD communication can be improved through a function to mutually convert the general CAN frame and the CAN FD frame. |
