630,940. Winding coils &c. DANILEWICZ, L., and DANILEWICZ, L. S. July 23, 1947, No. 19723. [Class 120 (ii)] Motion-transmitting mechanism, particularly for effecting the traversing of the wire in coil-winding machines, comprises a shaft 1, driven by a pulley 24 and driving the former &c. 3 for the coil, furnished with a number of toothed wheels 4a ... 4g having a slightly different number of teeth and rigidly connected thereto, and at least one wheel 5 rotatably mounted thereon. The wheel 5 is provided with a number of different concentrically-arranged face-cams 6 which can be selectively engaged by a follower 12 secured to a lever 13, the outer end of which is adjustable in a gate 14 and the inner end of which is attached to a bar 15 effecting the traversing of the wire on guide rollers 19, 19a. The fulcrum of the lever 13 is another lever 20, pivoted at 21, and movable towards or away from the shaft 1 by a knob the lever selectively engaging notches in a gate 22. The wheel 5 is driven by a long pinion 7 driven by a pinion 9 from one of the wheels 4a ... 4g, a handle 10 engaging notches in a gate 11 enabling the required transmission ratio between the shaft 1 and the cams 6 to be selected. The wheels 4a ... 4g are preferably of the same diameter the teeth being cut with sufficient tolerance to allow the pinion 9 to be engaged therewith.
|
