Exercise chair

An exercise chair for exercising the upper body comprises a conventional seat 11 and backrest 16 supported on a central pedestal-type leg 12. Arms 20 are resiliently mounted on the seat 11 by means of springs 22. To exercise, the arms 20 are moved inwardly by the seated user against the force of the springs 22. In a development of the invention, a powermeter is located in each arm 20 of the chair which measures the amount of force exerted by the user thereon.
