A power converter circuit for supplying electrical power from a power supply to a load comprises a series connection of an inductor and a switch connected between input terminals of the circuit, and a diode connected to an input terminal or a connecting node of the inductor and the switch. One output terminal of the circuit is terminal of the diode, and another output terminal is connected to an input terminal. The circuit further comprises a pulse generator circuit for generating a pulse signal for switching the switch on and off. The inductor comprises a toroidal core, and at least one pair of symmetrically arranged, mutually spaced, series-connected inductor sections wound from respective lengths of wire on the core, wherein a winding direction of different inductor sections is the same. |
