A switch device includes a common node connected to end nodes such as computer interface ports. The switch device includes several switch circuits to be connected in series in order to form a switch path between the common node and the end node. The switch circuit may include a main switch such as a transistor. The transistor automatically changes the connection of a gate thereof, thereby withstanding a positive or negative voltage surge.
