[Class 52 (ii)] In a folding chair of the kind in which the sides A, A<1> fold parallel by means of crossed links K, L at front and rear pivoted to the legs, a rigid frame G, H supporting, or forming part of, the seat is hinged to one side A of the chair, and the lower ends of the crossed links are pivoted to the sides, while the upper ends support the seat frame G, H when open, and preferably assist to move the seat frame into a vertical position when folded. In the construction shown, one of each pair of the crossed links, K, K<1> is pivoted to the seat frame G, H, and links N are pivoted to one side frame and to the seat frame, which when in open position rests on the upper ends of the links K, K<1> and on the ends of the links N nearest the side frame. The seat back comprises a strip of canvas attached to the uprights O. |
