Disclosed is a fireproof wall comprising a boiler wall that is formed by a tube wall (1) consisting of tubes (11) joined by connecting pieces (12), and comprising a fireproof protective lining (2) which is arranged in front of the boiler wall at a distance therefrom and which consists of a plurality of plates (21) that are arranged alongside or above one another and that are each fastened to the boiler wall via at least one plate mounting (22). For each plate (21), a bridge element (21b), disposed on the plate (21), is supported on each plate mounting (22) in a vertical direction. The bridge elements (21b) separate the height of the respective plates (21) into a shorter plate section (21c) and a longer plate section (21d). At least some of the plates (21) are arranged in pairs in the vertical direction, wherein the two plates (21) of each plate pair are arranged such that the shorter plate sections (21c) of said plates abut one another.
