<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer capable of preventing roll paper from being slackened when printing is stopped correspondingly to usage of the roll paper, while suppressing an increase in size. <P>SOLUTION: The printer includes a roll supporting part 25 (supporting means) supporting a roll 50. The roll supporting part 25 includes a first supporting member 31 and a second supporting member 36 capable of abutting on the outer peripheral surface 52 of the roll 50, and an energizing member 40 energizing the first supporting member 31 toward the second supporting member 36. The first supporting member 31 and the second supporting member 36 are formed to move relatively in a state where they abut on the outer peripheral surface 52 of the roll 50 and support the roll 50, and move relatively so that they may separate from each other against the energizing force of the energizing member 40 by the gravity of the roll 50 when supporting the unused roll 50, and move relatively so that they may approach each other against the gravity of the roll 50 by the energizing force of the energizing member 40 correspondingly to a decrease in the weight of the roll 50. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
