PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device which can secure connection strength with respect to a reduction gear housing even when using a column tube which can mold a sensor housing by tube expansion.SOLUTION: Output rotation of an assist motor is transmitted to a steering shaft 3 via a reduction gear. In an axial direction lower part of a column tube 13 for supporting the steering shaft 3, a sensor housing 15 is formed by tube expansion by plastic deformation. The sensor housing 15 accommodates a torque sensor 8. With respect to an inner periphery RRb of a connection region RR of the sensor housing 15, a cylindrical part (inner cylinder 36 in an upper housing 33) of a reduction gear housing 14 is press-fitted and engaged. By a reinforcement cylinder (reinforcement outer cylinder 41) fitted in an outer periphery RRa of the connection region RR, diameter expansion of the connection region RR is suppressed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
