PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antireflective optical member exhibiting a low reflectance in a wide band of visible light.SOLUTION: The antireflective optical member has a laminated structure including a transparent substrate, a metal particle-containing layer containing a plurality of planar metal particles, and a dielectric layer, laminated in this order and has the following characteristics. The planar metal particles have a diameter-to-thickness ratio of 3 or more; the major plane of the planar metal particle is oriented in a range from 0° to 30° with respect to a surface of the metal particle-containing layer; the plurality of planar metal particles is disposed without forming a conductive path; the optical member also includes a layer containing a material having light-absorbing property; an absorption peak wavelength of the material having light-absorbing property is present in a visible light band; and the dielectric layer has such a thickness that, when incident light enters a top surface side of the dielectric layer into the laminated structure, reflected light on the surface of the dielectric layer can be cancelled by the interference with reflected light on an interface on the dielectric layer side of the metal particle-containing layer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11 |
