The present invention relates to a forged passport inspecting method and a recording medium thereof, wherein the method is conducted in a passport inspecting system comprising a control part, a storage part connected to the control part and storing the image of a passport for comparison, an input part connected to the control part and serving as a means for inputting the command of a user, and a display part connected to the control part and displaying the result of inspection. The forged passport inspecting method comprises: an inspected passport image acquisition step of acquiring the image of an inspected passport through a scanner connected to the passport inspecting system and storing the acquired image in the storage part; a validity checking step of checking the validity of machine-readable zone (MRZ) data in the image of the inspected passport; a comparison passport image searching step of searching for the image of the passport for comparison to be compared with the inspected passport, from the storage part; a passport comparing step of comparing the inspected passport with the passport for comparison; and a passport forgery inspection result displaying step of displaying the result of the inspection on the display part.
