The apparatus includes a weighting block for receiving an estimated channel gain value output from a channel estimator and outputting an estimated weighted channel gain value and a compensator unit for receiving the estimated weighted channel gain value, reflecting the weight, and compensating, for an estimated channel gain.

1. A receiver comprising:
a channel estimator configured to determine an estimated channel gain value by estimating a channel based on a first input signal; a noise estimator configured to determine a noise estimation value by estimating a noise included in the first input signal; a weighting block determining a weighted channel gain value by applying a weight to the estimated channel gain value, where a numerator value of the weight is determined based on the first input signal, the estimated channel gain value and the noise estimation value and a denominator value of the weight is determined based on a power of the estimated channel gain value; and a compensator to compensate an error of the estimated channel gain value by reflecting the weighted channel gain value based on a second input signal.
