The invention relates to a rigid composite insulator intended to secure active phase conductors to a pole sustaining open-air transmission lines, referred to as "LEA", for transporting electric energy via medium- and high-voltage open lines. According to the invention, the insulator comprises a screw rod (1) mounted, by means of a nut (2) and a spring plate (3) and a flat plate (4), within a lower fitting (5), a core (6) protected by some reels (7) and an upper fitting (8), where the screw rod (1) is provided, at its outer end, with a groove (A) of square cross-section, the lower fitting (5), made of wrought steel and thermally plated with zinc, is provided with a knuckle radius (B), the reels (7) have different diameters (C), and the upper fitting (8) is made of aluminium alloy cast in metal moulds, having the shape of a round head provided at the base of the bore meant for crimping the core (6), with a spotface (D). |
