PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide easy-to-eat sushi in which an ingredient for sushi is not separated from a sushi ball, and also to provide a sushi production method capable of easily producing such sushi.SOLUTION: Sushi 1 comprises: a sushi ball 10 formed of sushi rice; and an ingredient for sushi 20 added to the sushi ball 10, a closed and longitudinally extending cavity 11 being formed inside the sushi ball 10 and the ingredient for sushi 20 being enclosed in the cavity 11 throughout its entire length. The sushi 1 is produced by performing the sushi production method which comprises: forming sushi rice to produce the sushi ball 10 having a recessed groove, the upper part and both ends of which are opened; inserting the ingredient for sushi 20 into the recessed groove of the sushi ball 10 throughout its entire length; and closing the opened portions at the upper part and both ends of the recessed groove to form the closed and longitudinally extending cavity 11 inside the sushi ball 10 and enclosing the ingredient for sushi 20 in the cavity 11 throughout its entire length.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
